Mr. Peter Madara
Chairman
Mr. Peter Madara is the Chairman of the Olivine Industries (Pvt) Ltd board. Mr. Madara holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Zimbabwe, is a fellow of the Chartered Governance and Accountancy Institute in Zimbabwe (CGAIZ) which he served a term as President. Mr. Madara was Chairman of the Public Accountants and Auditors Board
(PAAB) when the World Bank Report on Standards and Capacity of the
accountancy profession in Zimbabwe was commissioned and presented by
PAAB to Government. Thereafter he served on PAAB EXCO, as well as being
co-chair of the PAAB’s Project Stakeholder Advisory Group (PSAG) for
professionalizing accountancy in the public sector, until the PAAB handed over
the completed work to the Public Service Commission for implementation, as
a pathway to Professional Accountancy Organization (PAO) membership.
Mr. Madara was a member of the Steering Committee and Chairman of the
Thematic Committee on Accounting and Auditing Controls in the
development of the National Code on Good Governance Zimbabwe
(ZIMCODE).
Mr. Madara was the founder Chairman of the Development Finance Institute
(DFI) sub-Committee and its Development Finance Resource Centre (DFRC), a
subsidiary of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) that
provides capacity building to development finance institutions in the SADC
region.
Mr. Madara worked in various capacities for a Zimbabwe DFI which is also a
limited liability investment holding company charged with catalyzing
industrialization of Zimbabwe through identifying and financing the
development of bankable greenfield and brownfield projects in partnership
with domestic and foreign direct investors, which is housed under the
sovereign wealth fund, the Mutapa Investment Fund Act (Chapter 22:20).
Mr. Madara has been involved in greenfield projects of cement and edible oil
manufacture, real estate development and granite processing, as well as sat on
boards of entities involved in grain bag, ordnance items and civil explosives
manufacturing, processing of industrial minerals and silica sands, aluminium
metal fabrication and the electricity holding company.
Mr. Madara is the Managing Director of Masipe Africa (Pvt) Ltd consultancy
company.
